The four resorts on our list sit in two places. The Son Tra Peninsula, also called Monkey Mountain, is forested and quiet, and suits couples and anyone who wants a resort that feels cut off from the city. Non Nuoc Beach is a white-sand beach on the outskirts of Da Nang, at the foot of the Marble Mountains, and it suits families who want a big beachfront resort with several pools. From Non Nuoc, Hoi An Ancient Town is about a 30-minute drive. If you would rather stay in the city itself, along the Han River, none of the hotels on this page is there, so we would look at a different list.

Non Nuoc Beach, Ngu Hanh Son · near Marble Mountains
This beachfront resort is at 5 Truong Sa Street on Non Nuoc Beach, with views of the Marble Mountains and about a 15-minute drive from Da Nang International Airport. It has five outdoor pools plus a family pool and a water park, VIE Spa, and restaurants including Osteria al Mare, Vive Oceane and Xanh House. Families are the natural fit, with a supervised children's club and connecting rooms.

The resort sits on Non Nuoc Beach, about five minutes by car from the Marble Mountains and roughly 30 minutes from Hoi An Old Town, and it was converted from the former Vinpearl resort. Dining includes Madame Son for breakfast, Non Nuoc Bar for seafood lunches and Writer's Bar for late drinks, and there is an infinity pool with ocean views, a Kids Club and Quan Spa. A good fit for families who want a beachfront base with plenty of pool space.

Non Nuoc Beach, Ngu Hanh Son · near Marble Mountains
Marriott describes this as its first all-villa resort in Vietnam, in a neo-classical style a short walk from the sand of Non Nuoc Beach. The villas have two, three or four bedrooms, each with a private plunge pool and sun deck, and the resort has a kids' club, a spa and two tennis courts. We see it as a fit for families or small groups who want a villa rather than a hotel room.

Son Tra Peninsula · near Son Tra Peninsula
Built up a forested cliff on the Son Tra Peninsula above a private cove and beach, with the Nam Tram funicular linking its levels. La Maison 1888, the French restaurant, holds one Michelin star; the other venues include Citron (Vietnamese), Tingara (Japanese) and Barefoot, plus the Long Bar and Buffalo Bar. We suggest it for couples and for anyone who wants a secluded resort, about 30 minutes from the airport.
