CITY GUIDE · JAIPUR
Where to stay in Jaipur: palace-style resorts on the Amer side, a city Hyatt, and a fort stay two hours out.
Most of the hotels on this list sit outside the old Pink City rather than inside it. Kukas, on the Jaipur-Delhi Highway north of the city, is home to Fairmont Jaipur, Raffles Jaipur and The Leela Palace Jaipur. The Oberoi Rajvilas is on Goner Road, about 8 km from the heart of Jaipur, which makes it quieter than Kukas but closer to the center. Hyatt Regency Jaipur Mansarovar is in the Mansarovar area, a more everyday part of town near the ISKCON temple. Alila Fort Bishangarh is a different kind of stay altogether: it is about two hours north of Jaipur by car, so we treat it as a night or two in a fort rather than a base for city sightseeing.
Reference rates: nightly, 2 adults in one room, before tax, across four dates a year; from about US$94 a night.
