CITY GUIDE · PHU QUOC
3 resorts on the west and south-east coasts, with reference rates and perks from the hotel.
Phu Quoc is a roughly triangular island about 50 km from north to south, so where you stay shapes your trip. Two of our resorts are on the west coast: InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort is on Long Beach, about 15 minutes from the airport, and La Veranda Resort is a smaller colonial-style property with a private beachfront. JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay is on Khem Beach on the south-east coast, around 20 minutes from the airport, and suits those who want calm water and a self-contained resort. Duong Dong, the island's largest town, is on the west coast, which makes the west-coast resorts the easier choice if you want restaurants and markets nearby.
Reference rates: nightly, 2 adults in one room, before tax, across four dates a year; from about US$90 a night.
West coast · near Private beachfront
A resort built in the style of a 1920s French colonial mansion, on a private beachfront on the west coast, inspired by its founder's family history in former Indochina. The Pepper Tree is the fine-dining restaurant, with an all-day bistro on the verandah, and TINH Wellness Sanctuary is the on-site spa. A good fit for couples who prefer a smaller, more characterful resort to a large one.
Reference rate: US$90–241 / night (2 adults, before tax) · Perk program: Accor Preferred (HERA)
Long Beach, west coast · near Phu Quoc International Airport
The resort is on Long Beach on the island's west coast, about 15 minutes from the airport, with a white-sand beach and calm water. It has four swimming pools, HARNN Heritage Spa, a 24-hour fitness centre and INK 360, a rooftop bar billed as the island's highest. A good fit for families and groups who want a large resort with several restaurants and daily activities.
Reference rate: US$239–361 / night (2 adults, before tax) · Perk program: IHG Destined
Khem Beach, south-east coast · near An Thoi
The resort is on Khem Beach on the protected south-east coast, about 20 minutes' drive from the airport. Bill Bensley designed it around a fictional academy of learning, Lamarck University, which is why the bar is called the Department of Chemistry and one restaurant Tempus Fugit. There is a kids club and a separate spa, Spa Chanterelle, and we would suggest it for families and for travellers who like a design-led resort.
Reference rate: US$336–469 / night (2 adults, before tax) · Perk program: Marriott Select Partner Hotels
Our list covers the west coast (Long Beach and a private beachfront) and the south-east (Khem Beach). Khem Beach is on a protected coast with calm water, which is why we would start there for families with young children.
InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort is about 15 minutes from Phu Quoc International Airport. JW Marriott Emerald Bay is around 20 minutes by car.
JW Marriott Emerald Bay has a kids club and calm beach water, and InterContinental has four pools and daily activities for children and adults.
