CITY GUIDE · RIYADH
Riyadh is spread out, so the district you pick matters more than the hotel. We sorted these eleven hotels by area, from the Olaya towers to the Diplomatic Quarter and the desert edge.
Most visitors on business or a first trip land in Olaya, the commercial spine along King Fahd Road and Olaya Street, where Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah and Hyatt Regency Riyadh Olaya sit close to towers and malls. North of that, KAFD is a walkable planned financial district, and Kimpton is built into it with a skywalk to the metro. The Diplomatic Quarter side, around Al Hada, suits quieter stays on large grounds, with The Ritz-Carlton and The St. Regis nearby. Fairmont Riyadh sits in Qurtubah by the airport and exhibition venues, which helps if you have an early flight or an event. Sofitel is in Ar Rahmaniyah around a large convention centre. InterContinental Durrat Al Riyadh is a resort on the northern fringe, far from everything, so it works as a retreat rather than a base for sightseeing.
Reference rates: nightly, 2 adults in one room, before tax, across four dates a year; from about US$176 a night. Compare all Riyadh hotels with perks in one table: Riyadh reference rates.
