Bangkok's luxury hotels fall roughly into two groups. One runs along the Chao Phraya River, from century-old names to riverside resort-style hotels opened in recent years: quiet, with views, but you need a boat or a car to get into the city. The other is packed along the BTS line, from Siam and Chit Lom to Sukhumvit, where malls, restaurants and transit are all at your feet. The ten hotels in this guide were picked one by one from the Bangkok hotels on sale under our perks programs, with rates from a little over US$200 to over US$900 a night, so you can match one to your budget.

18 hotels in Bangkok hold MICHELIN Keys, one of the densest concentrations in Asia, and seven of them are among the ten here. Mandarin Oriental and The Siam have three Keys; Park Hyatt, Rosewood, Four Seasons and Capella have two; The Ritz-Carlton has one.

First, how we check prices: all prices below are for a November 1, 2026 check-in, a 3-night stay, 2 adults, taxes included, at the advisor-channel rate, shown as the 3-night total divided by 3 for an average nightly rate, in US dollars. The advisor-channel rate is what we can get when we book for clients as an accredited travel advisor, and it comes with a set of perks you cannot book through public channels, such as breakfast, a room credit and space-available upgrades. Each hotel's section describes its specific perks, and before booking we confirm them with the hotel one by one and write them into the client's confirmation.

Hotels are ordered by average nightly rate from low to high, so you can read straight through with a sense of the price range.

Our full list of perks hotels (over 3,000) is here: Global Luxury Hotel Perks List. Click through and it automatically filters to Bangkok hotels; we can check prices for any of them, just as in this guide.

The highlights first, if you are short on time:

  • Best value – JW Marriott: about US$267 a night, the lowest of the ten, and a two-minute walk to the BTS
  • Best perks value – Fairmont Sukhumvit: about US$273 a night, and refundable
  • Most worth a visit – Waldorf Astoria: designed by André Fu, with Bull & Bear on the 55th floor and an infinity pool for sunset
  • Best location – Park Hyatt: above the Central Embassy mall, with a sky bridge straight to BTS Phloen Chit station
  • Most distinctive experience – The Siam: Bill Bensley's black-and-white Art Deco, with only suites and pool villas
  • Top-end pick – Capella: #1 on the 2024 World's 50 Best Hotels list, all suites on the river

JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok

Exterior of JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok

The JW Marriott sits at the entrance to Sukhumvit Soi 2, with 441 rooms. Location is its biggest advantage: BTS Phloen Chit and Nana stations are two minutes away on foot, the Sukhumvit dining and bar strip is to the east, and the Siam shopping district is two stops west.

There are eight places to eat and drink. New York Steakhouse has been recommended in the Michelin Guide every year since 2018, sources its steaks from Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the U.S., and counts among Bangkok's better steakhouses; there is also the Cantonese restaurant Man Ho and the teppanyaki restaurant Nami. The fitness and pool area was fully renovated in early 2025.

With a large room count, good transit and no extra cost for design, this is the easiest choice of the ten.

Reference rate: for most of the year (except certain peak dates), about US$131–194 a night before tax. For a November 1, 2026 check-in, the tax-included advisor-channel average is US$267 a night, US$802 for 3 nights, non-refundable, the same as the hotel's public rate. At the same price, booking through the advisor channel usually adds breakfast for two, a hotel credit, welcome perks and space-available upgrades. Check this hotel's latest price →

Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit

Guest room at Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit

Fairmont Sukhumvit is Bangkok's newest address. It opened in mid-2026, and is also the first Fairmont in Thailand. It has 419 rooms and suites, with a full floor of Fairmont Gold executive level and a dedicated lounge.

It also has eight places to eat and drink: HARPER’S is the all-day restaurant, with a French-meets-American approach; AELA is a cocktail-focused bar; CAYA is by the pool; and a rooftop bar looks out over the whole city. There are also a spa, a pool, a kids' club and a ballroom with a 14-meter ceiling.

If you want brand-new facilities in a Sukhumvit location, this is the one most worth considering right now.

Reference rate: advisor-channel average of US$273 a night, US$820 for 3 nights, refundable. Booking through the advisor channel usually also includes breakfast for two, a hotel credit, welcome perks, and space-available early check-in, late check-out and upgrades. Check this hotel's latest price →

Waldorf Astoria Bangkok

Waldorf Astoria Bangkok infinity pool at sunset

The Waldorf Astoria occupies the upper half of the Magnolias building on Ratchadamri Road, facing the lawns of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club racecourse, with Siam Paragon and the Erawan Shrine across the road. With only 171 rooms, it is on the small side for this guide, which means more attentive service.

The interiors are by Hong Kong designer André Fu and New York's AvroKO. Fu blends Thai craftsmanship into modern lines, while the top three floors take their cue from the original Waldorf in New York. Bull & Bear on the 55th floor and Peacock Alley were both brought over from New York, and the infinity pool at sunset is the most photogenic spot in the hotel.

If you want high marks on location, design and service all at once, this is the most well-rounded.

Reference rate: for most of the year (except certain peak dates), about US$282–330 a night before tax. For a November 1, 2026 check-in, the tax-included advisor-channel average is US$290 a night, US$870 for 3 nights, refundable. Booking through the advisor channel usually also includes breakfast for two, a hotel credit, welcome perks and space-available upgrades. Check this hotel's latest price →

Park Hyatt Bangkok

Park Hyatt Bangkok exterior at night

Park Hyatt opened in 2017 as Thailand's first Park Hyatt, occupying the upper part of the Central Embassy building. The tower is by the British architect Amanda Levete's practice, a twisting silver curve that is the most recognizable building in the Chit Lom area.

It has 222 rooms, 32 of them suites, with interiors by New York's Yabu Pushelberg, who created a fictional Thai-British collector as the host and laid out the furnishings along that thread. The Penthouse Bar + Grill on floors 34 to 36, designed by AvroKO, is one of the most consistently booked high-floor restaurants and bars in Bangkok.

Its most practical point is that the Central Embassy mall is right downstairs, with a sky bridge straight to BTS Phloen Chit station, so you do not have to walk outdoors on a rainy day. For closeness to a mall and the metro, nothing in this guide beats it.

Reference rate: for most of the year (except certain peak dates), about US$280–334 a night before tax. For a November 1, 2026 check-in, the tax-included advisor-channel average is US$308 a night, US$923 for 3 nights, refundable. Booking through the advisor channel usually also includes breakfast for two, a hotel credit, welcome perks, and space-available upgrades and late check-out. Check this hotel's latest price →

Rosewood Bangkok

Rosewood Bangkok exterior at dusk

Rosewood is on Phloen Chit Road. Its 30-story body is shaped as two slanted planes pressed together, modeled on the Thai wai greeting, and lit at night it is the easiest building to recognize on that stretch of the skyline.

For dining, Nan Bei serves Chinese cuisine, Lakorn is the all-day restaurant, G&O is a farm-to-table café, and Lennon’s is a vinyl bar tucked inside. The wellness area has the Sense spa, hair and nails, and a 20-meter saltwater pool that runs between indoors and outdoors.

It is within walking distance of BTS Phloen Chit station and Central Embassy, and a little quieter than Park Hyatt. If you want design and quiet together, take a look at this one.

Reference rate: for most of the year (except certain peak dates), about US$267–284 a night before tax. For a November 1, 2026 check-in, the tax-included advisor-channel average is US$335 a night, US$1,006 for 3 nights, refundable. Booking through the advisor channel usually also includes breakfast for two, a hotel credit, welcome perks, and space-available upgrades and late check-out. Check this hotel's latest price →

The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok

The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok exterior at night

The Ritz-Carlton opened at the end of 2024 in the new One Bangkok district on Wireless Road. The tower rises about 260 meters, and faces the lawns and lake of Lumphini Park.

It has 260 rooms, every category with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on either the park or the city skyline, and the topmost Ritz-Carlton Suite measures 389 square meters. There are three restaurants, among them Duet by David Toutain, which brings the approach of the Michelin-starred Paris restaurant into a glass house. There is also a Forbes four-star spa, a saltwater pool terrace and an executive lounge on the 23rd floor.

Newly opened, with a new shopping district downstairs, this one suits people who want to stay somewhere new without going far.

Reference rate: for most of the year (except certain peak dates), about US$328–457 a night before tax. For a November 1, 2026 check-in, the tax-included advisor-channel average is US$399 a night, US$1,198 for 3 nights, non-refundable. Booking through the advisor channel usually also includes breakfast for two, a hotel credit, welcome perks and space-available upgrades. Check this hotel's latest price →

The Siam

Courtyard of The Siam hotel

The Siam is in the Dusit area, upriver on the Chao Phraya, close to the old city's temples and far from the malls, the least city-hotel-like property in this guide.

The whole hotel was designed by Bill Bensley, with a black-and-white Art Deco frame holding up a three-story atrium filled with old photographs, antiques and odds and ends collected over several generations of the owner's family. Every room type is a suite or a villa with a private pool, each with a butler. The grounds also hold a century-old teak house moved and rebuilt, a Muay Thai ring and a tattoo studio.

Honestly, it is less a hotel than a stay in a collector's home. If you want an experience you will remember and do not mind a boat or car ride into the city, there is nothing else like it in Bangkok.

Reference rate: for most of the year (except certain peak dates), about US$544–604 a night before tax. For a November 1, 2026 check-in, the tax-included advisor-channel average is US$696 a night, US$2,089 for 3 nights, refundable, the same as the public refundable rate for the same dates. At the same price, booking through the advisor channel usually adds breakfast for two, a hotel credit, welcome perks and space-available upgrades. Check this hotel's latest price →

Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River

Suite living room at Four Seasons Bangkok

Four Seasons opened in 2020 on the Chao Phraya River, designed by Jean-Michel Gathy as a group of low- to mid-rise courtyard buildings strung together by more than nine thousand square meters of gardens and several tiers of cascading pools. In land-scarce Bangkok, that is a lavish approach.

It has 299 rooms and suites, with works by local Thai artists in the public areas. Dining is the hotel's main draw: the Cantonese Yu Ting Yuan is Michelin-starred, Riva Del Fiume serves Italian, Brasserie Palmier is French with an oyster bar, and BKK Social Club regularly ranks near the top of Asia's 50 Best Bars. It placed third on the World's 50 Best Hotels list in 2023.

If you want a resort feel and Michelin dining at once, this is probably the best fit.

Reference rate: for most of the year (except certain peak dates), about US$535–615 a night before tax. For a November 1, 2026 check-in, the tax-included advisor-channel average is US$722 a night, US$2,166 for 3 nights, non-refundable, the same as the hotel's public rate. Booking through the advisor channel usually adds breakfast for two, a hotel credit, welcome perks and space-available upgrades. Check this hotel's latest price →

Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok

Author's Wing courtyard at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok

Mandarin Oriental opened in 1876 as the Kingdom of Siam's first luxury hotel, and it is the most storied building on the river. It has 331 rooms and suites in three wings: the Authors' Wing is the old 1887 extension, where Somerset Maugham once recovered from illness and where the names of Hemingway, Conrad and Noël Coward later became suite names; the Garden Wing and River Wing are the later parts.

Dining is part of the history too. Le Normandie has been the pinnacle of French dining in Thailand since 1958 and is now led by Anne-Sophie Pic, with two Michelin stars; afternoon tea in the Authors' Lounge needs booking well in advance; and the Oriental Spa across the river is one of the places Bangkok's spa tradition began.

If you want to stay inside that piece of Bangkok history, this is the only hotel that offers it.

Reference rate: for most of the year (except certain peak dates), about US$579–616 a night before tax. For a November 1, 2026 check-in, the tax-included advisor-channel average is US$773 a night, US$2,319 for 3 nights, non-refundable, the same as the public channel for the same dates. If you need refundable, another advisor channel for the same hotel is about US$909 a night, refundable; both include perks, and which to book we will recommend based on how firm your plans are. Booking through the advisor channel usually adds breakfast for two, a hotel credit, welcome perks and space-available upgrades. Check this hotel's latest price →

Capella Bangkok

River-view room at Capella Bangkok

Capella opened in 2020 on the riverbank on Charoen Krung Road. All 101 rooms are suites, villas or terrace rooms with a soaking tub, facing a bend of the Chao Phraya. It took first place on the World's 50 Best Hotels list in 2024, and the same year was voted Bangkok's number one in the Travel + Leisure Asia-Pacific readers' poll.

For dining, Côte by Mauro Colagreco is a Mediterranean restaurant with two Michelin stars in 2026, Phra Nakhon serves Thai food, and Stella is a small bar with live performances every night; the Auriga spa schedules treatments by moon phase. The hotel also has a private-assistant service called Capella Culturist, which can arrange to meditate with an abbot at a temple, cycle through the back lanes, or have a sunset barbecue in your villa garden.

If your budget allows and you want an unforgettable stay, this is as good as Bangkok gets.

Reference rate: for most of the year (except certain peak dates), about US$772–986 a night before tax. For a November 1, 2026 check-in, the tax-included advisor-channel average is US$946 a night, US$2,839 for 3 nights, refundable. Booking through the advisor channel usually also includes breakfast for two, a hotel credit, welcome perks, and space-available upgrades and late check-out. Check this hotel's latest price →

Final Thoughts

From US$267 a night at the JW Marriott to US$946 a night at Capella, the ten hotels span nearly a fourfold price range, but each holds its own at its price. For convenient transit, look at the JW Marriott and Park Hyatt; for brand-new facilities, Fairmont Sukhumvit and The Ritz-Carlton; for river views and a resort feel, Four Seasons and Capella; to stay inside history, Mandarin Oriental; and for an unforgettable experience, The Siam.

The two worth singling out are Fairmont Sukhumvit and Park Hyatt: both are available at refundable rates, with the perks channel's extras on top.

These prices are the perks-channel rates we can get as an accredited travel advisor. They come with breakfast, a room credit and welcome perks that you cannot book through public channels.

If any of these ten catches your eye, book with us at the cash rate to get these perks, with no membership status to maintain and no thresholds to meet, and what you save is real money.
